Prototype II - Human Centered Weather Communication

Brief Explanation:

A significant part of the research phase was the analysis of human perception. Temperature itself can not be felt. What humans actually feel is heat flow, which describes losing heat or gaining heat. This is based on the thermodynamic law that heat always flows from hot to cold. This phenomenon was the foundation to build this prototype. Instead of communicating abstract, non-perceptible numbers and values like โ€œ12 ยฐCโ€, the amount of heat lost or gained is visualized.

The center of the graphic resembles the human being, the circle the surrounding. The spheres flowing from or to the center symbolize the loss or gain of heat, therefore resembling feeling more or less warm or more or less cold.

Prototype render of smartwatches measuring the temperature of the user and visualizing the heat lost or gained to or from the surrounding.
